Schedule a Workshop

Want more clarity in your homeschooling?

Know a bad W.O.I. when you see it?

Wonder where your motivation went?

Just need some encouragement and a really good belly laugh?

Then you need Straight Arrows.

Straight Arrows, a study in parenting for Christian homeschooling moms, is a three-session, one day workshop taught by Dea Irby, a published author, pastor’s wife, mother of 8 and grandmother of 11.

Based on the verse, “like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth,” (Psalm 127:4) the sessions, I. The Mission, II. The Mom, III. The Motivation, cover, through encouraging and inspiring real life stories:

  • a mission statement for the role of a Christian homeschooling parent,
  • a diagram that outlines the Biblically-based philosophy of parenting,
  • the 8 bad types of W.O.I. (women of influence)
  • the 4 qualities of a good W.O.I.
  • the 5 de-motivators and how to overcome them.

If you are interested in participating, email for more  details. Or, if you have 6 or more women you can gather for a workshop, please contact me to schedule your session. (706-248-0160)

How is your parenting?

Are you having fun, yet?

What would make it clearer or easier for you as you strive to be the best parent you can be? Do you have good days where you feel successful and other days where you feel like a failure?

I think I can relate with wherever you are in relation to parenting. I have birthed children in my twenties, in my thirties and in my forties. I’ve been pregnant 71 months, nursed babies for over 50 months and will have a total of 30 years with a teenager living in my home. I do have an opinion about motherhood. Being a mother is one of the hardest most treasured jobs on the planet. Yes, there are days you want to quit, but also days you can’t get enough.

My mission can be stated as follows:

The goal of Christian parenting is to train up a child to be a straight arrow, mighty upon the earth, by evangelizing him, discipling him, and equipping him, in order for him to hit his God-ordained target.
